Question 1

What is conflicool?

Accepted Answer

conflicool is a free platform for bringing conflicting parties into contact with each other.

This platform allows users to meet with a mediator, a specialist in amicable conflict resolution, for a free orientation meeting.

The mediator informs the parties of the alternatives to court proceedings, such as the possibility of considering mediation.

To use conflicool, simply click on "Start" in the menu. Or if you have received a code to join a folder, click on "I have a code".

Question 2

What are the different steps to find a mediator on conflicool?

Accepted Answer

It is very simple. There are 3 steps to the process:

1. We explain to you, free of charge, how to settle your dispute amicably

2. We help you to organise a free meeting between the parties

3. The parties decide to continue their discussions with this neutral third party

Question 3

Is my data confidential and secure?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely.

Information submitted to conflicool by the conflicting parties is never shared with the other party - only with the accredited mediator once he has certified that he has no conflict of interest with them, and has taken over the case.

All data is securely stored in Google's data centres in Belgium. The conflicool website is also hosted on Google's servers and encrypted (see https in the navigation bar).

Question 4

What happens during the free meeting, and does it commit me to anything?

Accepted Answer

During the free meeting, the mediator tries to understand the nature of the dispute and determines whether an amicable settlement is possible. This meeting is not binding.

At the end of this meeting, the parties can decide to launch a paid mediation, initiate a paid conciliation, move to a more appropriate service or go to court.

Mediation and conciliation can be initiated at preferential conflicool rates.

Question 5

How much does conflicool cost? And what does a mediation cost?

Accepted Answer

The selection of the mediator and the first exploratory meeting of the parties with the mediator are entirely free of charge and without obligation. Using conflicool does not require any bank details. This offer is valid for all conflicool users and all types of conflicts.

If you decide to start a mediation, conflicool has negotiated extremely advantageous rates with its mediators. Our price list allows you to start a mediation with a clear idea of what it will cost you.
